The Journey

From Vadodara, India—where I learned the value of community and hard work—to Toronto, building in AI.

My Story

I grew up in Vadodara, India, a place where community is everything. We learned early on that if you want to get something done, you do it together. That sense of collaboration has stayed with me.

I moved to Canada to study Electrical Engineering, but I found myself constantly drawn to computers and programming. I've always been interested in tools that make us more productive, and software seemed like the ultimate toolkit.

My career started in software testing. While it wasn't where I expected to end up, it taught me a discipline that I value deeply: reliability. As a test architect, I learned that systems need to be deterministic to be useful.

When I started exploring AI, I initially felt a bit intimidated. I wasn't a data scientist or an ML researcher. But I realized that this technology is new for everyone. We're all figuring it out together.

I decided to just dive in and learn as much as I could. I carve out time every morning to study and experiment. It's been a journey of constant learning, and I'm just grateful to be part of such an exciting shift in how we build software.

The Self-Taught Journey

I don't have a traditional Computer Science degree. I studied engineering, but my coding journey has been largely self-driven. I learn by doing and by following my curiosity. If a problem interests me, I'll spend the time to understand it. In a field moving as fast as AI, I think this willingness to learn and adapt is just as valuable as formal training.

The Daily Practice

When I pivoted to AI, I realized that despite the hype, many experts were still figuring out the best practices. This encouraged me to dive deeper.

I dedicate 2-3 hours every day to study and experimentation. This consistent practice helps me stay grounded and keep up with the rapid pace of innovation.
